Gathered under the banner of the Le Carillon association, a dozen chefs have decided to cook for lunch and dinner for around thirty homeless people in Saint-Nazaire. A real "lifeline" for the latter during an already very difficult confinement. 

"Focaccia with candied peppers, carrots with cumin, and duck breast." It is not the menu of a restaurant, but the dinner concocted on Wednesday by Eric Guérin, a Michelin-starred chef, for around thirty homeless people in Saint-Nazaire. For the past few days, there have been a dozen names in French gastronomy, accustomed to offering menus sold for a three-figure price, having decided to put their know-how at the service of the poorest, against a background of confinement against the coronavirus .

An initiative launched by the association Le Carillon, and more precisely Philippe Hamache, after hearing the government's decision to set up service vouchers so that the homeless can find accommodation, especially in hotels. "It's a real comfort"

This is how chefs from the city and the surrounding area came together under the banner of the association to make 60 meals a day, with the help of suppliers. Everyone in the kitchen has to get their hands dirty. Homeless people therefore help behind the stove or for delivery. "I participate in the workforce, I will go shopping, unload the truck ...", confirms to the microphone of Europe 1 Thomas, 60 years old, one of the beneficiaries.

"It is a real comfort. Of course there is eating properly, but I also find this social bond that I have been missing for quite some time. It is a lifeline." The initiative must last at least until May 11, the date of the start of deconfinement.
