Alyson McClaran has told the BBC how he lived that moment and how he understood the strength of this image. The couple of doctors were there, "firm," says McClaran, despite being yelled at and racist insults from cars. "It was exciting to see it. It was the collision of two different worlds," he continues. "I ran out to them because I knew it was something big. I started shooting with my camera trying to get as many more photos as possible," he explains.
