Since 2015, Karlskrona Municipality has worked to create a so-called leisure library where children and young people can borrow sports and leisure articles for free. Now the municipality has found a local, the Allaktivitetshuset in Lyckeby, where the business can be run.

RF SISU in Blekinge, which supports sports clubs in the county, has long wanted to have a similar business in Blekinge.

- We have been struggling to get a leisure bank to Blekinge for four years and therefore it is positive to see that Karlskrona municipality makes a decision going in that direction, says Olof Ljungberg, RF SISU Blekinge.

Scheduled to open this fall

Through a leisure library, Olof Ljungberg hopes that more children will have the opportunity to test different sports.

- Not infrequently, it is actually the case that in order to test a sport it is necessary to buy some type of material and that means that a family that is not resourceful may not have the opportunity. Here is the opportunity to borrow a thing and thought it was fun maybe you invest in it, says Olof Ljungberg,

Mats Mattisson, head of leisure and facilities Karlskrona Municipality writes in an e-mail that it is not yet completely clear with a leisure library but that the municipality is working to open this in the fall.

"We have now found a room where we can run that business and in collaboration with another administration, so we have a completely different cost to be able to find a solution."
