British singer Marianne Faithfull was discharged from the London hospital where she was admitted more than three weeks ago after contracting the coronavirus on Wednesday, according to her official Twitter account.

"We are really pleased to announce that Marianne was discharged from the hospital today, 22 days after being admitted with symptoms of Covid-19," said the account of the 1960s rock icon.

"She will continue her convalescence in London", it is still indicated.

"Marianne thanks you all for your touching messages of attention", and she is also "very grateful to all the staff of the NHS (British health service NDLR) who took care of her in the hospital and brought her without no doubt saved your life, "he added.

Marianne Faithfull was one of the icons of the Sixties and was propelled to the front of the stage at only 17 years old thanks to the song "As Tears Go By", written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
