In Marseille, in full confinement, the police have just arrested three young men suspected of having stolen the contents of the safes of around thirty Ehpad in the Bouches-du-Rhône in recent months. The amount of the damage is estimated for the moment at 100,000 euros in jewelry and 20,000 euros in cash.

Confinement does not deter burglars. Three young men in their twenties, suspected of being responsible for thefts from around thirty nursing homes in Bouches-du-Rhône, have just been arrested by the police in Marseille. The trio visited two Ehpad a week, at night, to directly attack the safes, generally located in the management offices, where all the residents' values are stored: jewelry, cash, bank cards with codes ... They never used violence, and did not carry weapons. They were equipped with a simple crowbar to unseal the chests.

Investigation made complicated by containment

The perpetrators then shared the booty without worrying about the emotional shock of the residents, even during periods of confinement. This is what motivated, among others, the investigators to arrest them as quickly as possible, which was not easy. "It was very complicated for us," admits David Brugère, head of departmental security in Bouches-du-Rhône.
