It was during the night of Wednesday that Peter Björklund in Näsum in Skåne was awakened by the sound of someone driving off with the family's A-tractor.

His first thought was that it was his son, 17-year-old Albin Björklund, who had gone out on a tour. But when Peter Björklund realized that his son was sleeping in the room next door, he realized that something was wrong.

- I woke up Albin and we decided to drive in our car. We arrived just after 500 meters, says Peter Björklund.

Hunted for - at 30 km / h

Then followed what came to be one of history's perhaps slowest car chases.

- Yes it was. An A-tractor can only drive for 30 kilometers per hour, says Albin Björklund.

- The driver of the A-tractor wobbled across the roadway and did not get the car's lights on. So we kept a certain distance and called the police while we drove, says Peter Björklund.

The trip ended in Blekinge

After about five kilometers, when the ship crossed the border to Blekinge, the car chase ended. Then the A-tractor thief, a 20-year-old man, emerged from the vehicle seemingly unaware that he had just taken part in a car chase.

- He came to us and we told him that he should have a warning triangle if he should stay in the middle of the road. We wanted to detain him until the police arrived, says Peter Björklund.

It was not long before the 20-year-old could be taken into custody by the police for sobriety in the arrest, suspected of drunk driving and assault of means of residence.

After that, Peter and Albin Björklund were able to drive home with their A-tractor, which is now in safe storage on the family plot.
