A motorcycle driver died while standing on a sign on Al Wasl Street, yesterday evening, after being hit by a car whose driver did not notice that the signal was red.

A security source in Dubai Police stated that the accident occurred at nine thirty in the evening, when a car driven by an Asian person hit a motorcycle driven by another Asian, while he was waiting for the signal to turn into a green position, to continue his way on Al Wasl Street in the jurisdiction of Bur Dubai.

He explained that upon receiving the report, ambulance and police patrols moved to the scene of the accident, and the bike driver was taken to the hospital, but he died from his injury, while the accident planning expert conducted a preview of the site to prepare a technical report and submit it to the Traffic and Traffic Prosecution.

Dubai Police warned of the need to pay attention to the position of the signal before a sufficient distance, because violating the red signal is one of the most serious violations, and often occurs for two reasons, either the lack of driver culture and lack of awareness of how to drive safely at the sign, which requires more attention, and not to accelerate while approaching it While it is green or yellow, the second reason is recklessness and impulsivity.

She emphasized the importance of slowing down when entering the signal, so that the driver can stop if it turns red.

The police previously posted recorded clips of drivers who crossed the red signal, revealing the strange behavior of these behaviors, including a driver who actually parked his car on the red signal, waited seconds and then made a sudden decision to move, although it did not turn green on a large intersection linking several directions.

The driver of the vehicle did not realize that the signal was red and he hit the motorcycle.
