Some Arab countries have announced easing the preventive measures imposed to counter the Corona virus, which has infected more than 2.5 million people around the world, despite the World Health Organization's warnings to reduce isolation and quarantine restrictions.

The Saudi Press Agency said that the authorities decided to reduce the curfew hours imposed on several cities during the month of Ramadan, to allow more time for citizens to purchase their basic needs within the scope of the residential neighborhood in which they reside.

Residents of the 24-hour curfew areas are now allowed to go out to receive health care and go to stores from six in the morning until three in the evening. The agency stated that this would start in Ramadan from nine in the morning until five in the evening.

On Tuesday, the Jordanian authorities decided to ease curfews in several cities, most notably Aqaba, Karak, Tafilah, and Maan.

On Sunday, Jordan eased the curfew imposed on the city of Aqaba, as some commercial sectors were allowed to work, and the city's residents were using their cars during the lifting of the ban, which runs from ten in the morning until six in the evening.

On Monday, the Palestinian government approved economic and transportation facilities, 45 days after the Coruna virus crisis began.

On Sunday, the Tunisian government announced that the partial curfew during Ramadan would be reduced from 12 to 10 hours.

The Yemeni authorities also decided today, Tuesday, to lift the curfew in the Hadramaut Governorate (east of the country) starting Thursday.

In Iraq, the capital, Baghdad, and a number of provinces witnessed a partial lifting of the 34-day curfew, allowing some sectors to resume work within specific hours.

The authorities decided to ease the ban during the month of Ramadan, with the exception of some areas that are major hotspots for the spread of Corona virus in the country.

In Egypt, during its plenary session, Parliament began discussing amendments to the Emergency Law, granting the President or his representative additional powers to confront the Corona virus.

The new amendments focus on exceptional measures that include closing public and private institutions, completely or partially disrupting work, disrupting study, and subjecting individuals and institutions to quarantine if necessary.

However, Egyptian opposition parties expressed their concerns about the expansion in the state of emergency and the use of the Corona crisis as a cover to tighten the security grip, especially with the increase in arrests since the beginning of the crisis, which included critics of the way the regime dealt with the epidemic.

Earlier in the day, the World Health Organization warned against the sudden lifting of general isolation measures to contain the Coronavirus, and said that if the restrictions were eased prematurely, there would be a return to infection.

This followed the statement by the director of the organization, Tedros Adhanum, that the worst was coming in relation to the outbreak of the Coruna virus, to raise a new alarm about the virus.
