What is happening to the overseas Chinese in all countries as the new pneumonia epidemic spreads all over the world? China Overseas Chinese Network (ID: qiaowangzhongguo) specially launched a series of "Overseas Stays" series of manuscripts, telling the story of the "war epidemic" left by overseas Chinese. In this issue, Yin Yabing, an expatriate teacher from Henan Province, described his left-behind life.

The Spring Festival in 2020 is an unforgettable Spring Festival. On January 23, the city of Wuhan was closed, and the new crown pneumonia changed the world.

As an expatriate teacher, I teach at the Surabaya New Middle School in Indonesia. As soon as the news of the closure of Wuhan was spread, local students asked "Teacher, are you from Wuhan" or "You have not returned to China recently." I put away the anxious mood and patiently answered everyone's questions. After dispelling their doubts, I also told them some common hygiene tips such as washing hands and spitting, reminding them to pay attention to self-protection.

Although I am in Surabaya, I still miss the relatives of my motherland. Whenever I see the increase in the number of confirmed cases in China, I feel very sad, and I want to help my motherland fight the epidemic. On February 5th, when the school called on China to donate money to fight the epidemic, I signed up without hesitation, hoping that the motherland would win the epidemic as soon as possible.

As time passed, I was paying attention to the development of the domestic epidemic while attending classes for students, and told my family to pay attention to safety. On March 1, when I saw that the newly confirmed cases in other provinces except Hubei were "0", I finally let go of my heart in my throat and let out a long breath: Good!

However, after China's epidemic situation was basically controlled, Indonesia, which is a country of thousands of islands, was not spared. On March 2, the Indonesian government announced that there was a confirmed case in Jakarta. That night, the community supermarket where I lived was overcrowded, and people were hoarding goods everywhere. There was a long queue at the cash register, and I queued for more than an hour. The team only checked out.

It may be that I paid attention to the development of the domestic epidemic every day. In the face of the Indonesian epidemic, I did not panic. I just learned more about the epidemic prevention in the class. I also taught the students the "seven-step washing method" and advised them not to go to the crowded area. At the same time, I also do self-protection, exercise in the yard of the dormitory, try not to go out, and wear a mask when going out, this is for myself, but also for others.

Facing the epidemic, the school is also working hard. The school specially invited medical experts to the school to give a detailed explanation of the epidemic situation for teachers and students; every morning, school leaders and teachers on duty used the thermometer to measure the body temperature of teachers and students to ensure that teachers and students entering the campus did not have a fever; at the gate , Stairs and other public areas are equipped with disposable hand sanitizer; every afternoon after school, workers fully disinfect classrooms and offices without leaving a dead end.

While arranging learning tasks for students on the Internet, we also communicate with students online to solve the students' confusion in learning. At the same time, teachers often exchange their experience in teaching online to achieve excellence. It is the responsibility of each of our expatriate teachers to give each class a good class and let the flowers of Chinese language bloom. It is also the mission entrusted to us by the country.

With the new crown pneumonia epidemic, China has handed in a satisfactory answer with the joint efforts of the people across the country. I am proud of the great motherland and the unity of the people of the motherland.

I am proud of my motherland, and I hope that my motherland is proud of me. I will stick to my position, abide by my responsibilities, and successfully complete the assignments assigned to me by the motherland. I believe that with the joint efforts of people all over the world, the epidemic will eventually subside; after the cold winter, we will usher in a colorful spring!
