The Paris police requisitioned a large market temporarily as a mortuary earlier this month and can park 1,000 coffins. By the 17th, about 800 coffins had been parked at the site. With the opening of the second temporary mortuary on the 18th, the French funeral industry need not worry about the pressure of the coffin parking.
The second temporary mortuary does not yet have the conditions to receive the family of the deceased.
