The president of Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas admitted with regret Friday the departure of his recruitment manager, Florian Maurice, for the club of Rennes.

"It pained me a lot. I had him as a player, I brought him back by OLTV, I put him in the deep end day by day of OL, he worked for the recruitment" , said the boss of OL in an interview with the Lyon daily Le Progrès.

"He was deep inside the club, at the heart of the institution, an intimate place. I raised him, loved him and he turns his back on us on the second day of confinement when a fortnight before he denied the information. This cannot but hurt, "said JMA.

"For him, I imagined Paris, Barcelona or something else. It's Rennes. We have to hope for him that Rennes will become a very big club," said Jean-Michel Aulas ironically.

Former OL striker where he was trained, Florian Maurice (46) has played 142 games with the Lyon professional team (1992-1997, 51 goals). He has 6 selections for the French team (1 goal).

After a career which led him notably to Paris SG and Marseille before becoming head of the OL recruitment cell which he had integrated in 2009.

Collaborating very well with the former coach of the club, Bruno Genesio, who left his contract last June, Maurice had a role in Lyon similar to that of a sports director without having the title before the effective return of the Brazilian Juninho for hold this post.
