During Friday, the infection control in Värmland announced that a total of 1,666 samples were carried out and that the county is now up in 94 cases of confirmed coronary infection. Only Kalmar, Blekinge and Gotland counties have fewer cases. This despite the fact that Värmland had several cases of infection early.

- I believe that the infection tracking that was carried out by the foreign-related early cases, especially from northern Italy, was important in limiting the spread of the infection, says Ingemar Hallén, an infection prevention physician in Region Värmland.

Ingemar Hallén notes that the spread of infection continues to be slow in Värmland. At present, 23 people are being cared for in hospitals in Värmland, seven of them in the intensive care unit. Of the 23 hospitalized patients, six come from other regions. Of the six, five are cared for in the intensive care unit.
