A young citizen succeeded in creating a robot, to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

The Department of Civil Defense in Umm al-Quwain confirmed that the robot was used to sterilize hard-to-reach sites within the national sterilization program.

Sultan Saif bin Badr Al-Alili, 19, from the Emirate of Umm Al-Quwain, created a robot to contribute to the sterilization of roads and public streets in the emirate, with personal efforts, in support of the state’s efforts in the national sterilization program.

He told Emirates Today: he owns a private workshop in his home, dedicated to implementing his innovative projects.

Al-Alili said that the robot can carry 60 kilograms of sterilization materials, and can work for 10 hours, and its speed can reach 15 kilometers per hour.

He added that the robot cost him about 18,000 dirhams, as he made it from simple materials, available on the market.

The Director of the Umm Al Quwain Civil Defense Department, Colonel Dr. Salem Hamad Bin Hamda, confirmed that the participation of the Alili innovator in the robot device in the sterilization program falls within the support of young innovators.

He noted that the robot contributes to the sterilization of open spaces.

Al-Alili won the "innovative student" award from the Ajman Police General Command, within the "Essnar" award organized by the Ministry of Interior.
