The NBA and the WNBA will market cloth masks with the effigy of teams in their leagues to prevent coronavirus, the body announced on Friday, adding that the proceeds will help fight hunger.

"As a global community, we can all play a role in reducing the impact of the coronavirus pandemic by following the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to cover our noses and mouths in public "said Kathy Behrens, director of social responsibility within the NBA.

"With this new product offering, NBA and WNBA fans can adhere to these guidelines while joining the league's efforts to help those who have been directly affected by Covid-19," he said. she adds.

The masks with the effigies of the 30 and 12 franchises NBA and WNBA are produced by the jersey manufacturer Fanatics and are available on the platforms NBAStore.com and WNBAStore.com.

Sales in the United States will benefit Feeding America and those in Canada will benefit Second Harvest.

Franchises that sell masks through their own e-commerce sites will also donate to charities to support food banks in their respective cities.
