Finally, the Council of Senior Scholars at the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai issued three fatwas confirming that it is obligatory to fast Ramadan for every Muslim who does not have an excuse that permits him to break the fast during the day in Ramadan, including that the Muslim be sick or on travel, and then the spread of Corona does not prevent Not sick from fasting, pointing out that the Tarawih prayer (qiyam) in the month of Ramadan can be prayed by a Muslim in his home alone or with his family, and the individual realizes the merits of the group.

The three fatwas came with headlines: "A question regarding the ruling on mosques going to Friday and congregational prayers when epidemics spread," "A matter of fasting provisions and doing with the Corona virus," and "The question of how to perform Tarawih and Tahajid prayers with the Corona virus."

It says in the fatwa "Friday and Congregational Prayer": The quarantine requirement is that prayers are not held in mosques, because of the consequences of meeting people in transmitting the infection and spreading the virus between them.

The fatwa pointed out that the spoiler, which occurs at the meeting, is greater than the interest that is achieved in the presence of Friday and the congregation, and the reward that follows arises from the intention of attending without the barrier, so his prayers in his home will be alone or with his family with full pay, as if he was in the mosque.

The fatwa “Fasting Ramadan” confirmed that fasting the holy month is one of the pillars of Islam, and it is not permissible to break the fast in it except for the excuse of travel, sickness, or menstruation, and postpartum, with the necessity of making it up when the excuse ceases, except for a person who is old and unable, so his duty is to ransom for each day to feed a poor person. She added that it was found from reliable medical reports that fasting strengthens the immunity one needs to resist viruses and germs, and that there is no scientific research or one fact that linked intermittent fasting (Muslim fasting) with an increased rate of virus infection.

The fatwa pointed out that fasting comes and people are staying in their homes because of the quarantine, so they do not have to bother or overwork.

The fatwa “Tarawih prayer” fatwa stated that Tarawih prayer is a confirmed Sunnah, in the month of Ramadan, and that it is held in one group in the mosques is a year of unanimity, unanimously agreed upon by the Ummah, and that people cannot perform it in the mosques for fear that the virus will spread due to mixing, as this does not prevent Muslims from performing it In their homes alone, or with their families.
