Russian Foreign Ministry called for assistance to refugees due to coronavirus

This is stated in the commentary of the foreign ministry. 

The ministry drew attention to the report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to curb the spread of the virus among refugees. 

The department welcomed the management’s focus on working closely with the authorities to include refugees in national programs to combat coronavirus and to conduct information campaigns among the population. 

“We proceed from the need to urgently provide full assistance to refugees and internally displaced persons who are very vulnerable to coronavirus infection, as well as to the countries themselves that accept these categories of people,” the message said.

Earlier, Russia and Syria accused the United States of plans to transfer cargo to militants under the guise of humanitarian aid against the backdrop of the spread of coronavirus.
