The staff announcement went out during the Thursday afternoon. 150 of the 900 commercial employees would be notified of termination.

But when SVT News Halland talks to Gekås CEO Boris Lennerhov, he announces that they are withdrawing the information on notice.

The background is that Swedish Trade and Trade Employees' central level agreements have not been agreed on short-term permits. As a result, Gekås saw no other way out than having to notify staff of dismissal.

Pulled back

But just over an hour after the email went out to the employees, Gekås was notified of an agreement.

- Handels probably understood the seriousness of the matter. Now we are withdrawing the notice of termination, says Boris Lennerhov.

Gekås has previously flagged that notice of termination could become relevant. During the corona crisis, the department store lost 70 percent of the visitors.
