Over the past two weeks, the football player Kamal Mustafa, who has played for IFK Gothenburg, Falkenbergs FF and most recently Oddevold IK, has been fighting the corona virus, something that the Gothenburg Post also reported. He was moved between different departments, had a burning fever, was unable to sleep and was only seconds away from being forced to sleep.

- It went so fast, after I called the ambulance everything became black, when I woke up again I was in the hospital. Then everything just got worse, he says.

Ended up at IVA

After a few days in different departments at the Eastern Hospital, his condition is so bad that he is moved to the intensive care unit. Kamal says that it was as if his body was burning, and he sometimes felt he could not cope anymore.

- I just wanted to tear off my skin and head, everything hurt so bad. I really didn't think that I, being so young and healthy, exercising every day could suffer from such severe symptoms.

"I feel grateful"

After lying on his stomach to breathe for several days, after masses of needles, specimens, controls, Kamal finally began to recover. But he says it's hard to keep positive in mind.

- Sometimes somebody comes and holds me in my hand for several hours and tries to talk about positive things with me. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who works here, from the doctors to the cleaners who come in here every day, if there is someone who should have a price, then everyone who works in the healthcare sector, he says.
