Cases of domestic violence are increasing during this period of confinement. Police and gendarmes admit it without detour and must regularly intervene in the homes of couples in difficulty. Monday evening, a 31-year-old woman called for help in Vannes (Morbihan) after injuring her partner with a stab, reports Ouest-France. The young woman explained that she was regularly hit by the man. That evening she was kicked in the head.

Injured at the neck, the man was taken care of by the firefighters and transported to the hospital center. Twenty stitches were needed to heal the stab wound. According to Ouest-France , the couple was intoxicated at the time of the events. An investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of the facts.

According to the authorities, reports of domestic violence have increased by 30% since the introduction of health measures linked to the coronavirus epidemic. In Ille-et-Vilaine, the public prosecutor has set up a new tool called "Spokespersons", which allows confidants to testify to the violence suffered by an acquaintance.
