When the aircraft carrier Charles-de-Gaulle entered the harbor of Toulon, on the afternoon of Sunday, April 12, there were officially only fifty sailors contaminated by the Covid-19 for all Carrier Strike Group. Since then, tests carried out on crews have revealed a much more alarming state of health.

Investigation into the management of the epidemic on board the flagship of the French Navy

As of April 14 in the evening, of the 1,767 sailors tested, 668 cases have been positive,  " said the Ministry of the Armed Forces, in a press release published Wednesday, April 15. Among them, "  31 are now hospitalized at the Sainte-Anne army hospital in Toulon, including one in intensive care,  " it is further specified.

An already considerable balance sheet and which could further increase, since 30% of the tests have not yet delivered their results. While disinfection of aircraft and ships has commenced, the Navy has also ordered a command investigation to learn all about the management of the outbreak on board.

Because if it is admitted that it was thanks to a stopover in Brest, in mid-March, that sailors contracted the coronavirus, the staff wonders: why the pandemic could not to be contained and nails today at the quay the flagship of the French fleet?
