Jiang Jinliang became involved with Sonar in 2013, when he had just joined the army. During the naval submarine academy, during a sonar selection test, this young soldier from a remote mountain village in the northwestern Hunan Province, sleeping with birds and insects, emerged.
After the trainer continuously played a series of sounds and signals, Jiang Jinliang accurately recognized most of the contents by virtue of his sensitivity to the sound, and before that, he did not even know what sonar was.
The teachers present were amazed. Since then, this "genius player" has naturally become a sonar soldier. During his studies at school, "talent" and "potential" once became his label. Now looking back, Jiang Jinliang laughed and laughed at himself, "I feel pretty good."
However, Jiang Jinliang soon discovered that talent is only a "knock brick", and it is impossible to rely on talent alone to become an excellent sonar soldier.
Shortly after the next company, the recruits organized training on the boat. Without the books and actual operation of equipment, Jiang Jinliang's back-to-back theoretical knowledge began to be "not enough". The equipment did not work as he expected. When he was helpless, the old squad leader Sun Junming walked over and solved the problem with a few simple operations.
"Talent is nothing extraordinary, hard work is the secret to victory." Since then, the seat in front of the sonar simulator in the integrated simulation building has become Jiang Jinliang's "resident location." During the break time, Jiang Jinliang also often worked overtime there.
In 2017, when preparing for naval sonar soldiers to compete professionally, Jiang Jinliang often trained late into the night, and the headset was a day. In Jiang Jinliang's view, sonar professional training has no end, and actual combat is the only way to check results. Today, Jiang Jinliang can accurately identify the sound of the engine and propeller of the target ship from more than 10 kinds of miscellaneous noise, and further judge its nationality, model, and even the number.
The comrades joked that Jiang Jinliang was a "wind listener" in the ocean, and he liked the title very much. In addition to identifying target signals, Jiang Jinliang also enjoys the fun sounds of the underwater world.
