“Some states may open much faster than the deadline on May 1,” Trump said at a press conference in the White House.
He stressed that a press conference will be held on April 16 at which recommendations will be announced to lift restrictions in specific states.
Trump said earlier that the U.S. was at the peak of coronavirus infections.
