Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has provided the service to renew a vehicle’s driving license electronically, without paying violations or conducting the required eye examination to be able to renew it, for a period of three months.

The Authority exempted clients from facilitating access to the service currently during the complete closure of the happiness centers for customers all over the city, as part of the precautionary measures taken at the country level to limit the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19), which requires the obligation of homes.

And the driving license renewal service became temporarily unavailable through the Customer Happiness Centers, starting from Sunday, March 29.

An electronic driver's license will be issued to replace the actual cards, and they will be valid for a year, upon renewal through the electronic and smart channels currently available.

Customers can obtain the service through the authority's website : https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/e/home/public-transport-and -services-updates? lang = en, as well as via Smart Authority applications, such as the Dubai Drive application, and the Roads and Transport Authority application.

The procedures for applying and obtaining the service include only four steps, starting with registering on the website, then selecting the Services for Drivers and Vehicle Owners Services page, then entering the required information so that in the fourth step, obtaining an electronic driving license that is valid for a year.

It is noteworthy that the statistical data issued by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai during the past month, showed that the number of driving licenses registered in the Authority’s system reached two million and 420 thousand licenses at the end of 2019, while the number of licenses issued during the year 2019 reached 95 thousand and 43 licenses.
