The Emirates has sent an aid plane carrying eight tons of medical supplies to Cyprus, which will benefit about 10,000 medical workers, to support it in the face of the emerging Corona virus.

Sultan Ahmed Ghanem Al-Suwaidi, the country's ambassador to Cyprus, said that providing support to the countries affected by the crisis (Covid-19) is a humanitarian duty that every country capable of doing so should have. International multilateral cooperation is necessary to overcome this humanitarian crisis.

He pointed out that the aid would enable the medical staff there to fulfill its duty to combat the virus in the country, stressing that the UAE and its leadership stand by the people of Cyprus and all the peoples of the world to overcome this humanitarian catastrophe.

The UAE has also sent, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, an aid plane carrying 27 tons of various medical and preventive supplies to Somalia, including seven tons of aid from the state and 20 tons from the organization, to help about 27,000 medical workers in Somalia in the face of the emerging Corona virus. .

The country's ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ahmed Al Hammadi, said that the UAE provides all forms of support to enhance global efforts to limit the spread of "Covid-19".

He added that since the beginning of the Corona virus crisis, the UAE has sent urgent medical aid shipments to a number of countries.
