Yesterday, the Department of Economic Development in Sharjah closed a bakery for failing to comply with health requirements, and one of the workers in the bakery put his finger in his mouth during the process of putting bread in bags, as this matter appeared during a video clip sent by a person to the concerned authorities in the emirate.

The department affirmed its keenness and interest in continuing efforts to maintain public health in cooperation with the competent authorities in the emirate.

She explained that the facility was closed and administrative procedures taken against the worker were confirmed, as it confirmed its continuous follow-up, around the clock, for all the observations received, and the inspection campaign will continue the efforts of the inspection teams to tighten control on non-compliant establishments, and violate them if they do not comply with the requirements and procedures followed.

The Sharjah Municipality reported that it had taken all health and administrative measures against the bakery, and immediately contacted the Department of Economic Development to take its necessary measures.

She emphasized that consumer health and safety is a top priority, and that it organizes intensive inspection visits on a daily basis, to ensure the commitment of food establishments and food outlets to health standards and the necessary requirements, and is keen to follow up on all observations received through the call center on the number 993, or from channels Other communication, take action and deal with it immediately.
