The United States recorded 1,514 new deaths from coronavirus in 24 hours on Sunday evening, a figure that fell for the second consecutive day, according to a daily count from Johns Hopkins University.

This American medical university, whose balance sheets refer, had identified 1,920 new deaths Saturday and 2,108 Friday.

The United States is the country most affected by Covid-19 with more than 22,000 deaths and at least 555,000 confirmed cases.

The situation is particularly serious in New York State, the epicenter of the disease with more than 9,000 deaths, including nearly 7,000 in New York City alone.

"We do not see a significant drop, it is just stabilization," nuanced Sunday the governor of the state, Andrew Cuomo.

The country is at a standstill due to the restrictions put in place to stem the epidemic. "It's a plague like our country has never seen, but we win the battle, we win the war," said President Donald Trump in an Easter video message on Twitter.
