The illegal nightclub discovered in a house by the gendarmes - Gendarmerie du Gard

A man is suspected of having created a discotheque, illegally, in the basement of the property he rented, in a town in the Gard. According to the gendarmerie services, the suspect regularly posted on social networks photographs of his club, which he is accused of having offered for rent.

A search allowed the investigators to discover four furnished rooms, with computer equipment, sound and light, a pole dance space, a dance floor, a bar, or even a video projector. More than 19,000 euros of material was seized.

Accused of domestic violence

According to the Gard gendarmes, this illegal nightclub could accommodate more than 100 people, on 140 m². The man is in particular suspected of having organized illegal parties at the end of March, in full confinement linked to the Covid-19.

This clandestine box was discovered while the gendarmes intervened on April 8, when the man was suspected of having raped his partner, in front of their two young children. The gendarmes arrested the suspect.

He will be tried next September for domestic violence and concealed work. He was incarcerated for 26 months in previous proceedings concerning him.
