Kenny Dalglish, 69-year-old ex-player and historic Liverpool coach, was released from hospital on Saturday where he was diagnosed with Covid-19.

Hospitalized on Wednesday for the treatment of an infection, Dalglish had on occasion discovered that he was an asymptomatic carrier of the virus.

The Scotsman, legend of the Reds with whom he was three times European champion (1978, 1981, 1984), praised the hospital staff, "absolutely brilliant".

"We are all very fortunate to have them. (...) People might think that I had the greatest attention because of my name but all the patients of the National Health Service (public health, note) receive the more attention, "he told the Sunday Post.

Dalglish, who had 172 goals in 515 games with Liverpool, went on to coach the Reds. In particular, he experienced the Hillsborough tragedy from the bench, when 96 supporters perished.
