April 12, 2020 It is an Easter in lockdown that is being spent, as never before, in the families of a large part of the citizens of the world forced to not leave their homes. An Easter with just under 2 million infected and 108,867 dead.

The United States has the primacy of contagions (527,111) and 20,506 victims (1,920 in the last 24 hours, 783 only in New York). For the first time in U.S. history, calamity has been declared in all 50 states, with Donald Trump approving the state of disaster report for Wyoming as well. The debate is however open on when to reopen America. Donald Trump would like to do it as soon as possible, but the governors of the most important states are cautious. Meanwhile, there is controversy in New York between the democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, and the mayor, Bill De Blasio, who announces the closure of public schools for the remainder of the academic year and their reopening in September, in open contrast to the governor.

In China , cases imported from abroad are doubling: another 97 yesterday, is the highest number since the beginning of March. The authorities are concerned about a new wave of Covid-19 brought home from the outside. Today in Beijing, the health alert level has gone from green to orange which includes the obligation to remain in isolation at home. What worries the Chinese authorities is the consideration that access to China can only be closed for non-Chinese.

Iran records 117 more deaths of people infected with the coronavirus, with the total number of victims rising to 4,474. There are also 1,657 other cases, for a total of 71,686 people infected.

The number of coronavirus infected in Latin America has exceeded 60,000, of which over 2,503 died. In 36 hours the region went from 50,037 cases confirmed on April 10 to 60,300 today. The victims in the same period grew by 442 units. The first Latin American country by number of infected and victims remains Brazil , with almost a third of the continental total (17,857 positive and 1,124 dead). Ecuador (7,257 and 315) follow by number of infected, which is distinguished by the high number of fatal victims in relation to the population 12 times less than the Brazilian one, Chile (6,927 and 73) and Peru (6,848 and 181 ). The list of countries with the most positives in the region continues with Mexico (4,219 and 273), Panama (3,234 and 79), Dominican Republic (2,759 and 135), Colombia (2,709 and 100) and Argentina (1,975 and 82) .
