The Dubai government is implementing a wide awareness campaign on the ways to prevent and protect it to be followed to combat this epidemic, targeting workers ’accommodations across Dubai, in order to spread awareness among this group.
Teams from the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai, the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai and the Dubai Municipality, in coordination with the Control and Control Center to combat the Corona Virus, will participate in the implementation of the campaign that was launched last March 22.
The campaign included a visit to the workers 'housing in the Muhaisnah (Sanapur), Hatta, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Industrial City, Jebel Ali, and Al Quoz 1, 2, 3, and 4, in addition to the workers' housing for the Dubai Expo 2020, with care to communicate with the largest number Possible workers. It included 1822 workers housing, and contributed to confirming the commitment to apply precautionary measures inside the rooms, cooking places and dining halls, in addition to the preventive measures when leaving the residence, including the need to leave the safe distance between individuals, and to maintain continuous temperature measurement, as well as sterilizing buses .
The general coordinator of the committee, Abdullah Lashkari, said in Dubai: “Dubai is considered one of the most host cities for workers around the world, due to the reconstruction movement accompanying development operations in various sectors, while the Dubai government pays special attention to providing the best working conditions, which is the consideration on which the committee works to launch Initiatives and programs aimed at improving the conditions of workers, whether associated with them in their field of work or their living conditions and within different times, while the current situation requires redoubling work in relation to spreading health awareness among them ».
Teams of the committee visited about 20 residential compounds for workers during the campaign, in addition to visiting the places frequented by workers, clinics and buses used to transport them to work sites, while the teams of the General Civil Defense and the Dubai Municipality provided guidance and awareness posters to distribute them in the places visited.
The campaign focuses on introducing the virus, the ways of transmission and how it spreads, and the precautions to be taken at a personal level to protect from the virus and protect others, reduce the opportunities for its spread, and introduce the most important general guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the Health Authority in Dubai, taking into account the simplification of information to deliver information to The largest number of them, as well as passing them to them in their native languages.

The director of the Environmental Health Department in Dubai Municipality, Dr. Maryam bin Isa, said that the campaign supports the great efforts made at the level of the Emirate of Dubai to address one of the most dangerous health phenomena faced by the world in its contemporary history. She pointed out that the cleanliness of labor accommodations is a prerequisite for ensuring the health and safety of workers.
