Patric Gullström goes out to Lake Björken in the home municipality of Sunne. There he devoted himself to his hobby for 35 years.

- There is plenty of room there. You do not need to be afraid of being infected by the Corona virus, says Patric Gullström, who is chairman of the Sunna Ornithological Association.

The interest in bird watching is related to his great nature interest. The more you learn about nature, the greater the interest, he says.

Would like to see brown happy

All that is needed is a good bird book where you can find out what it is for birds you see. In normal cases, a beginner would hang out with a group of experienced bird watchers. But that's not advisable these days. Nor is it necessary to get up in the morning.

- That's just a myth. But surely it is easier to hear the birdsong when it is quiet around one.

He has seen ducks, woodcock and single-billed this year.

What would you like to see when you spend Easter?

- Happy to have a brown cheer. An unusual sight around here. But the opportunity exists, says a hopeful Patric Gullström.

Here you can see what hiking trails are in Sunne municipality.

Things to do elsewhere in the county

In Torsby, the orienteering club OK Fryksdalen and the municipality have produced three different "Torsbyrundor" with controls. The rounds go on small roads and paths and are about 3-5 km.

Östervik's urban farm in Kristinehamn is also open at Easter and Sommarvik's camping in Årjäng offers various family activities.

In the Marieberg forest in Karlstad, some of the planned events have been canceled, but you are welcome to anyone who is healthy to spend time outdoors in activities such as treasure hunting and hiking.

Open in the churches

The churches in Karlstad's pastorate will be open and hold services as usual during Easter. The pastorate believes that the guidelines for gathering a maximum of 50 people have not been difficult to follow because fewer come to the church services and that the church basin is so large that there is room for people to spread out.

In addition, the services from the cathedral in Karlstad will be broadcast live for those who wish to attend a service but who cannot or do not want to visit the church themselves.
