Coronavirus: Trump press briefings increasingly worry his advisers

Experts are worried about such a prospect which would risk relaunching the pandemic, already far from being brought under control in the United States.

Donald Trump is pleased with the success of the containment policy pursued by the American states. Every day, the president displays his confidence and optimism during his press briefing, and his declarations begin to worry even those around him.

The President holds daily press briefings to keep Americans informed of the progress of the pandemic , but this meeting can last more than two hours, because deprived of electoral meetings, he takes advantage of this forum to conspire the Democrats, blame the media, and sometimes contradict the analyzes of experts on the coronavirus.

Donald Trump said on Friday that he would like a rapid recovery in the economy while at the same forum, Dr. Anthony Fauci continues to explain that it is absolutely necessary to maintain the containment measures.

Counterproductive performance

In an editorial this week, the Wall Street Journal , although found to be somewhat unfriendly to the president, suggested that Donald Trump limit his public appearances. According to the New York Times , the president's entourage in the White House and some of his closest Republican allies also see his daily performance as counterproductive.

" The president's message is drowned out, " worried Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the billionaire's most loyal allies, who advocates a weekly press conference rather than a daily item. But Donald Trump, on the other hand, boasts on Twitter of the hearings carried out during these press briefings. Even if certain television channels regularly interrupt their broadcasting.
