Tiger Woods and his caddy Joe LaCava are being sued by a Florida resident who claims that he pushed him when he wanted to be photographed alongside the golfer at a tournament in 2018.
The file was deposited Tuesday in the county of Pinellas in Florida. Complainant Brian Borruso, who is claiming $ 30,000 in damages, says the incident occurred in the 13th hole of the third round of the Valspar Championship, played near Tampa Bay.
As Woods was about to hit the ball, Borruso tried to take a selfie with the star in the background. At that time, according to the complaint, LaCava pushed Borruso and dropped him in the middle of other spectators, causing injuries necessitating his transportation to the hospital. The injuries in question were not specified in the file.
Woods is being sued for being the employer of LaCava and as such responsible for the actions of his caddy during a tournament.
Brian Borruso's lawyer Josh Dreschel also called on the public on Wednesday to identify voices from a video witness to the incident.
"We ask all those present at this time to contact us and let us know if they have seen the incident, if they know who the voices heard in the video are and if they themselves have a voice. video or photos of the incident, "said Mr. Dreschel.
"Unfortunately, the PGA circuit refused to cooperate, but we are sure they have a video of the incident," he added.
