According to reports, the diagnosed patient of the Cabinet Office is a man in his 50s who is mainly responsible for the affairs of the disaster prevention office. He had sustained high fever for several days and was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia on the 7th after receiving nucleic acid testing.

The report said that although Takeda did not have close contact with this staff, but in case, Takeda still did not attend the 7th temporary cabinet meeting, and the content of the official business will be adjusted afterwards.

At present, the staff member and six cabinet staff who have had close contact with him are on standby at home, including the secretary of Takeda.

In addition to the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare also had a confirmed case on the 6th. According to reports, the patient is a male employee in his 50s. He began to have fever symptoms on March 28 and has been recuperating at home since then. He was diagnosed with infection on April 6.

It is understood that although some employees of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare had been infected on the cruise ship "Diamond Princess", the infected person appeared for the first time at its headquarters. Currently, Houlao Province is investigating people who have had close contact with it.

As of the early morning of the 8th, the cumulative number of newly diagnosed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Japan was 4,460 and 98 deaths.
