“From April 1 to 6, 2020, 2.4 thousand tons of fresh ginger were imported into Russia, which is 12 times higher than the import volume for the same period last year (203 tons) and makes 84% of the volume of product imports for the previous three months," - said in a statement on the website of the department.
It is clarified that China is the main importer of ginger to Russia.
It is also noted that over the same period, imports of fresh garlic to Russia more than doubled.
It was previously reported that prices for dairy products in Russia could rise by 7-12%.
