- We are doing this to show that we want to help. Our goal is to help, says club champion Gunnel Berglund.

Lions Club Luleå has received the sandwich cakes from a restaurant that during a few weekends had access to the Lions facility on Gråsjälören and in this way supported the association's work against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of the club's members who usually run the Gråsjälören voluntarily are at an age that constitutes a risk group during influenza times.

- We can't be near other people. And at Gråsjälören, which is a big source of income for us, we cannot work, says club champion Gunnel Berglund.

Restaurant provides support

Therefore, the association allowed the restaurant in question to have sales on the popular island to which many Luleå residents pilgrims on the weekends. In return, the restaurant has baked sandwich cakes that Lions Club Luleå today distributed to health and alarm staff.

Better equipped in the future

What do you think society and we citizens can draw from this when it is over?

- Society and the larger organizations may be able to ensure that they have better resources if something happens. We young people must learn the lesson that we must pay attention to each other, says Lions Club Luleå's club champion Gunnel Berglund.
