Bernie Sanders is no longer a candidate for the American presidential election. The Vermont senator announced on Wednesday April 8 the suspension of his campaign in the Democratic primaries for the presidential election on November 3.

"The campaign ends, the fight continues," said his statement. His recent electoral setbacks and the numerous rallies to the centrist candidate of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, will have been right in his candidacy.

The former rival of the former US vice president in the Democratic nomination race, he plans to speak to his supporters live by video at 3:45 p.m. GMT, his campaign team said in a statement.
