Following SVT's disclosures about the procurement of the Care Express, the Region of Skåne and the Västra Götaland region stopped the collaboration with the e-health company Care Innovation at the end of January indefinitely. Now SVT has had access to internal information confirming that even the review conducted by the consulting company PwC has concluded that the procurement can be called into question.

In the e-mail that SVT has taken note of, it says:

“The external review conducted by PwC is not yet complete, but PwC has confirmed that it was the right decision to initiate an investigation. Region Skåne has also been recognized by PwC for identifying information that makes the procurement questionable. "

Officials cooperated

SVT revealed that the newly formed company Health Innovation had access to Region Skåne's procurement material well ahead of its competitors and that the company was even allowed to influence the issues that decided the procurement. SVT's review also showed that officials at Region Skåne worked closely with Care Innovation.

What information PwC has found in its review is not stated in the primary care management's internal e-mails.

Care Express is stopped

According to the same information, Region Skåne will decide what measures need to be taken only when the report is complete.

The e-mail also states that "the solution and the system previously tested in pilot operations is not relevant to resume".

New procurement

Instead, a new procurement of support for digital meetings will be implemented shortly.

The information states: “Procurement should be done promptly based on the opportunities provided by legislation and regulations. This is done to enable, above all, primary care to move forward with a constructive solution, based on the need that exists based on the covid-19 situation. "
