Qatar said on Tuesday that the charges of bribe surrounding the 2022 World Cup were "baseless" and said it would be "vigorously challenged".

Brooklyn Federal Prosecutor's Documents Released On Monday According To Fifa Executives Received Bribes To Vote In Favor Of Awarding 2018 World Cup Russia And Qatar Edition 2022, which the United States was also a candidate to host.

Qatar has declared that it "firmly denies the allegations contained in the documents".

These new revelations are linked to a large corruption scandal involving former top world football leaders that shook Fifa and led to the fall of its president Sepp Blatter in 2015.

"This is part of a long-standing affair, the object of which is not the process of awarding the 2018 and 2022 World Cups," said the Supreme Committee for the 2022 World Cup.

"Despite years of false accusations, no evidence has ever been produced which would show that Qatar obtained the organization of the 2022 World Cup in a dubious manner or by means violating the strict rules of Fifa," added the Qatari authority.
