SL's ticket controls have been criticized for contributing to the spread of infection among travelers, staff and politicians. Some passengers have also refused to show the travel voucher, which has made the work environment strained for ticket controllers, according to SL. Now the checks are paused indefinitely.
- We, like other businesses, are in a serious position with regard to the ongoing corona crisis. In particular, we have seen an information need emerge with new recommendations and advice from expert authorities as well as road users. The focus here is therefore that ticket controllers can also make great use of informing travelers and contributing to traffic in other ways, says Kristoffer Tamsons (M), Traffic Region Council and Chairman of SL.
- When fewer travel with SL and the Public Health Authority come up with directives to limit the risks of congestion, SL's ticket controllers should also adjust their activities. The foremost focus is on allowing ticket controllers to provide travelers with information about congestion or to help be responsible for statistics on passenger patterns in traffic, says Kristoffer Tamsons.
If ticket controllers see clear planings, they will still stop travelers not paying.
