India has announced that it will provide the "most affected countries" with the emerging coronavir virus "Covid-19" with the main drugs that are tested as a possible treatment for the virus, hours after US President Donald Trump hinted at "revenge" in the event that New Delhi does not lift its ban on Those drugs.

On Saturday, India imposed a ban on exporting the inexpensive "hydroxychloroquine" drug used to treat malaria, which Trump described as potentially changing the rules of the game to combat the emerging coronavirus.

"Given the humanitarian aspects of the epidemic, it has been decided that India will license (export) paracetamol and hydroxychloroquine, in appropriate quantities to all of our neighboring countries that depend on our capabilities," said Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman, Anuraj Srivastava, today.

He added: "We will also provide some essential drugs that have been hit hard by the epidemic."

Trump called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the weekend, asking him for supplies of hydroxychloroquine, and then Indian authorities began reviewing the decision to suspend its export.

Trump issued a hidden warning at a press conference held at the White House on Monday, in the event that India did not agree to export hydroxychloroquine, which many believe is effective in treating the Coronavirus.
