All students' access to the internet is currently being invented in the City of Stockholm. The inventory is part of the city's preparation for a possible closure of primary school - as distance education will have to be conducted to a much greater extent.

- We are prepared for this and we have solutions, says the school mayor in Stockholm, Isabel Smedberg-Palmkvist (L).

Many sick and absent

Approximately one in four pupils and teachers were absent during week 12-14 in Stockholm city. This corresponds to just over 20,000 of the total 78,000 elementary school students in the city.

Flexible solutions will be required for the little ones

According to Isabel Smedberg-Palmkvist (L), primary school teachers have been inspired by solutions that have tested on higher education - with successful results. However, according to the School Citizens' Council, distance education is not as suitable for younger pupils, which will require flexibility in the event of a school closure.

- The teachers are doing outstanding work right now, you have to give them credit for, says Isabel Smedberg-Palmkvist (L)
