Coronavirus in France: FedEx ordered to provide protective equipment to its employees

In France, the government is raising its voice in the face of online sales giants and transport companies. A temporary agency worker deceased, 19 people infected, since the end of March, the CGT union has constantly denounced the working conditions at the FedEx site in Roissy. The company was ordered by the labor inspectorate to provide each worker with two disposable coveralls, four pairs of gloves and four masks.

Measures considered insufficient by Laetitia Gomez, secretary general of the CGT Interim: “ The site must be disinfected regularly as well as the equipment used by the employees. Today, there has been disinfection, but it is partial and unsuitable for the site. "

2,500 employees and 400 temporary workers meet on the site every day and the employees are very worried: “ Business always comes first. So what we are saying today to temporary help companies is : "Now that's enough. If you want to continue doing what you want, it could be possible - which we haven't done to the moment -, to file a complaint against the directions of the temporary work centers which continued to put employees stationed at Federal Express Corporation ". "

FedEx disputes its formal notice by the labor inspectorate. The group decided to launch an appeal.
