Queen Elizabeth II thanked health workers fighting the Covid-19 pandemic on Sunday, as well as the British who stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus, in a historic television address.

"I want to thank everyone on the front line" in health care in the NHS public system "and all other caregivers," said the queen, as well as "all of you who stay at home, helping thus protecting the most vulnerable, "said the sovereign.
