The French authorities arrested a third Sudanese, as part of an investigation into the attack with a knife carried out by a Sudanese refugee, which killed two people, and wounded a number of passers-by in southeastern France, the day before yesterday, sources at the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecution told AFP.

The sources said that the third detainee is a Sudanese youth residing in the same center as the bomber, and this brings the number of those arrested in the course of this investigation to three Sudanese, and the other two are the suspected bomber, Abdullah Ahmed Othman, born in 1987, and a refugee in France. Since June 2017, a second man has been presented as an acquaintance, and has been arrested with him but does not reside with him, according to a source close to the investigation.

The morning before yesterday, the accused had attacked a number of pedestrians in the street, and others in two tobacco and meat shops and a bakery, in the Roman-sur-Izir region.

The source close to the investigation stated that two people were killed and two wounded, still in intensive care, but that their condition was stable, and two others left the hospital.

The French judiciary announced that an investigation had been opened regarding "killings with terrorist targets" and "terrorist criminal conspiracy", and the prosecution said that "the first elements of the investigation shed light on a criminal course designed to disturb public order through intimidation and intimidation."

The prosecution added that the attacker obtained refugee status and a residence permit for 10 years, and his activity was unknown to the French police or intelligence services.

A source close to the investigation stated that the attacker “said he does not remember what happened,” and his interrogation was delayed, because he was very confused when he was arrested, and he will undergo a psychological examination.

For its part, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it condemns this unfortunate incident in the strongest terms, and extends its condolences to the families of the deceased, and wishes for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
