When SVT West gets on the boat via satellite phone, the high school class is located just off the island of Bermuda. This year's sailing in Caribia would have ended in Miami where the class would have taken a flight back home to Sweden - but then the corona pandemic broke out.

- When we were there in the last days, in the small town of Progreso in Mexico, police and military came and started closing down bars and grocery stores. The virus had felt like it was so far away, but all of a sudden it started to get closer and closer, says high school student Felicia Sundin Liljebjer, a native of Vara.

But despite the current crisis around the world, both Felicia and her teacher Anne-Li feel very safe on board the sailboat. It has become like their own quarantine, and the situation at home in Sweden is almost more worrying.

- We are so used to Sweden being responsible for security, so it feels strange to read what is happening at home. But on board we are fine, all other high school students have distance education but we drive as usual, says teacher Anne-Li Olsén.
