The accident happened at 9.30am on Saturday, at the height of Stenbäck. The road was closed to traffic in connection with the rescue work, but was opened again just before 12 o'clock.
According to Kim Hild, police spokesman, there is no evidence that any crime is suspected in connection with the accident.
The man's relatives are notified.
