A gas explosion occurred in a five-story residential building in Orekhovo-Zuevo, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Ministry of Emergencies. The department said that on the third floor of the house on Gagarin Street, a gas column exploded. As a result, the second entrance of the house collapsed from the third to the fifth floor.

“An air-gas mixture explosion in an apartment on the third floor of a five-story four-entrance brick residential building, followed by the collapse of the second entrance from the fifth to the third floor,” the department said.

Rescuers took 50 people out of the building. Another 150 were evacuated before the units arrived.

According to preliminary data, one person died as a result of the explosion.

The operational headquarters at the scene of the emergency reported that six people were injured. According to the latest information, five of them were hospitalized: three are in intensive care, doctors assess the condition of another tenant as moderate, and released another one for outpatient treatment. According to the "360 Channel", the lives of the victims are out of danger.

At the same time, TASS emergency services reported that one of the victims was a teenager, whom eyewitnesses saved.

“After the explosion, eyewitnesses noticed a boy who was outside the rubble on the third floor. He was rescued and handed over to emergency doctors, ”the report said.

Meanwhile, rescuers do not exclude that other victims can be under the rubble. According to the governor of Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov, who took the situation under his personal control, the analysis will take about six hours.

Vorobyov instructed to place the victims in places of temporary stay and provide everything necessary. In addition, the head of the Ministry of Emergencies, Yevgeny Zinichev, flew to the scene of the tragedy.

As an eyewitness to the explosion, Nikolai Yasenev, said that at the time of the incident he smoked on the balcony and felt a shock wave.

“During the time I was standing on the balcony, there was an explosion in the house. I can see from the balcony that dust has come from the entrance. And just such a shock wave passed - on the balcony even the glazing swayed, ”he told Ruptly.

Another eyewitness to the incident, Alexei told the Moscow Says radio station that he was driving by and heard a strong explosion.

“Passing by, a powerful explosion sounded there. Everything there was smog from dust. Glass flew out from two sides of the house, and from the other side - the collapse of the entrance, ”said the man.

One of the residents of the collapsed house told “360” that she did not immediately understand what had happened. As a result of the explosion, the woman was reportedly injured in the face.
