According to a study by Kantar Profiles, in partnership with Europe 1, the French have a pretty clear idea of the first thing they want to do when the containment is lifted. And contrary to what you might think, for the majority of them, this is not a great trip.

EXCLUSIVE

This is an unprecedented situation, in response to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic: for almost three weeks, the majority of French people have been asked to stay at home. The daily newspapers are reorganized, the agendas too, often leaving more room for the mind to wander and already, perhaps, scaffolding plans: what will we do once the confinement is lifted? According to a Kantar Profiles * study, in partnership with Europe 1, the answer is for the moment quite basic: finding a social life.

Invite friends or go to a restaurant ...

To the question "what is the first thing you intend to do at the end of confinement?" - with only one possible answer, 31% of the respondents answer that they simply wish to invite their relatives or friends to their home. The second most popular project (20%) is to go out for a drink or dine in a restaurant.

This second answer comes first among 18-24 year olds (31%) but does not seem to be a priority for those 65 and over (13%). There are few notable differences between the responses of women and those of men.

... rather than organizing trips

While the date and the process of "deconfinement" are not yet precisely known, the French also aspire to get some fresh air. 20% of them have the first project of "going out for a long walk", without the need to give a reason or fill out a certificate. Here again, the answers vary according to age: walking is a priority for only 6% of 18-24 year olds, compared to 31% of those 65 and over.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> How long are healthy carriers contagious?

> What are the side effects of chloroquine?

> Adulterated tests, false calls for donations ...: watch out for scams linked to the coronavirus

> Reading, board games ... How to stimulate your brain during confinement?

> How to avoid gaining pounds during confinement?

Next come the practice of a sporting activity (7%), shopping (7%) and going to the cinema, a concert or a cultural event (5%). More surprising: despite the many projects canceled by the French, especially for the Easter holidays, only 5% of respondents intend above all to organize a trip to France or abroad, as soon as the restrictions are lifted. If the confinement gives desires elsewhere, they are therefore not far away for the time being.
