The two people who drank the liquor, two men in their 60s, were taken to hospital at the beginning of the week and have been cared for intensively with poisoning symptoms.

- We don't know what they got in themselves, but they got really sick after drinking liquor from bottles they bought from a private person, says Henrik Algurin at the Värnamopolisen.

- The two men thought it was bottles from Systembolaget they had bought, and believe that it is not about domestic liquor. But the bottles had been opened.

Want to warn against buying

The police suspect that some substance has been mixed in the bottles and now want to warn others from buying alcohol.

- We do not know exactly where the bottles come from and now want to warn, especially young people, from buying bottles that you do not know where they come from, says Henrik Algurin.

He also states that the police have some traces and that the two men who have been poisoned have been able to tell by whom they bought the bottles. But no arrests have been made and more bottles may be in circulation.

Both men have been able to leave the intensive care unit, but it is unclear if they will receive any but from the incident.
